ContentBarrier sets up a protective wall around your computer. Its predefined categories let you choose what you don't want your children to see, and you can also create your own custom categories. ContentBarrier blocks adult web sites, sites with subjects not fit for children, and even blocks chats when predatory language is used. It blocks offensive content coming from the Internet. ContentBarrier works with multiple users; if you have several children, you can set different criteria, corresponding to their age or maturity. You can choose whether they have access to newsgroups or whether they can download files. You can set the program to let them only use the Internet at certain times, and on specific days. The program can even send you e-mail, automatically, when certain events occur. ContentBarrier keeps a complete log of all web sites visited, whether blocked or not.
Home Page DansGuardian is an award winning Open Source web content filter which currently runs on Linux, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, NetBSD, Mac OS X, HP-UX, and Solaris. It filters the actual content of pages based on many methods including phrase matching, PICS filtering and URL filtering. It does not purely filter based on a banned list of sites like lesser totally commercial filters. DansGuardian is designed to be completely flexible and allows you to tailor the filtering to your exact needs. It can be as draconian or as unobstructive as you want. The default settings are geared towards what a primary school might want but DansGuardian puts you in control of what you want to block.

Home Page With KidzMail children draw pictures and send them to people in their address book. Addressing email is as simple as choosing recipients from a list of pictures and names. Even if children can't read the names they can pick out the pictures. Parents control the address book, so they know who their children are sending email to. KidzMail sends real email that any email client will accept. Pictures are sent as both JPEGs (a popular picture format found on the Internet) and KidzMail pictures. Even somebody without KidzMail should be able to receive and view KidzMail pictures.
