 BetterZip 1.7.3
BetterZip lets you open archives without immediately extracting them. This is much faster
and you don't have to remove the extracted files and folders after using them. The
currently supported archive formats are: ZIP, TAR, GZip, BZip2, ARJ, LZH, ISO, CHM, CAB,
CPIO, RAR, 7-Zip, DEB, and RPM. Such archives usually have these file extensions: .zip,
.jar, .war, .ear, .sar, .par, .wsr, .rar, .cbz, .cbr, .tar, .tgz, .tbz, .gz, .bz, .bz2,
.cpio, .cpgz, .7z, .lha, .lzh, .arj, .iso, .chm, .cab, .deb, .rpm. The list of supported
formats will very likely grow in the near future.
BetterZip can open, extract, and create password protected zip files that are compatible
with PKZip2 or WinZip's AES256 encryption. Whenever BetterZip needs a password for an
operation a panel will drop down and ask for the password.
BetterZip can split archives into multiple volumes.
Add files and folders to existing archives, update or rename files already in the archive,
move files around within the archive, and delete files and folders from an archive. Create
new folders inside the archive.
Easily search for files and folders by name inside the archive.
BetterZip lets you create "clean" archives without the Mac specific files (Finder
configuration or resource forks) to happily exchange with Windows or Linux users.
