Namely is possibly the fastest way to open applications. The Dock is
okay, but becomes less effective when you have lots of applications in
it. Also, you may sometimes need to use an application that's not in
your Dock, in which case you need to find it using the Finder or
Spotlight first. Namely solves both of these problems. You simply invoke
it using your preferred keyboard shortcut (Command-Escape by default)
and start typing part of an application's name. It will show you a list
of matches and you keep typing to narrow them down. Actually, two or
three letters are enough most of the time. When you've found what you're
looking for, hit Return to launch it.
