Icon CueType 1.1

CueType is a no-nonsense driller to help improve keyboarding speed and accuracy. Choose a drill, start the timer, and CueType will compute your words-per-minute and count your errors. However,
Instead of merely displaying drills with plain, unadorned text, CueType uses clever visual cues as reminders of keyboarding practices.

Icon Letter Invaders 0.1

Letter Invaders, based on the now ancient arcade game Space Invaders, is designed to help improve typing skills (and therefore increase your chances of getting some sort of RSI). The idea is to blast aliens out of the sky as they attempt to land on and "kill" you. Since this is a game to improve typing skills, the aliens are words selected randomly from the dictionary. You blast the aliens out of the sky by typing them correctly.

Icon MacTypingTutor 5.3

The MacTypingTutor programs are great for beginning typing students. They use five integrated work areas that together teach correct finger placement and memorization of the keyboard keys. Practice exercises focus on single letters, letter and number sequences, words, sentences, paragraphs, and free typing. The program offers a spelling checker, user-defined speed goals, score sheets, time tracking with rest signals, and many other helpful features. You can hide or show your typing, screen-keyboard, and feedback reports. You can adjust difficulty level from very easy to hard (this is a good feature for younger children). The program automatically remembers your work-preferences from session to session.

Icon TickerType 1.1.1

TickerType is a game that helps you practice your typing skills. Each game has five turns and each turn is 30, 60 or 90 seconds long, selectable by the user. Words are chosen at random from a built-in dictionary; the player can choose short (2 - 4 letters), medium (4 - 6 letters) or long (6 - 8 letters). With the start of each game or turn, the words start marching across the window in tickertape fashion; the player can choose slow, medium or fast speeds. The goal is to type as many of the words as possible before the time runs out; a countdown is provided. If you type a word correctly before it starts to run off the window, the word disappears and you get ten points plus one point for each letter. The top ten scores are saved. Sound is supported; the player can turn sound on/off. Settings for sound, word length, speed and turn length are saved between sessions.
